The Entomology Unit at DISAFA investigates insect immunity and host–pathogen interactions in commercially reared and agriculturally important species to mitigate pathogen impact and reduce antibiotic use. It studies emerging native and exotic phytophagous pests and their natural enemies to develop sustainable, low-impact pest management strategies. Research integrates insect rearing with molecular, physiological, and experimental approaches in laboratory and field settings.
